Buying A Camera In Japan 2022/7/7 04:48
Before the fall of the yen, the general advice was not to buy a camera in Japan, has this changed? Can you now get a bargain?

Lots of factors beyond just cost around buying electronics including cameras in Japan, especially around the warranty.

I recommend you go to Kakaku to check out the current pricing of whatever you are wanting. Don't worry that it is in Japanese, just type the brand and model number of the product you want and it can display for you pricing of the item throughout Japan.

www.kakaku.com

Note that just because there is a "cheap" price for the item on Kakaku does not mean you will be able to find the item when you arrive in Japan at that price since with inflation, shortages, etc., many products in the mainstream electronics stores may be in short supply or non-existent. Nevertheless, Kakaku will give you a general idea of what a product is currently being sold for cost-wise in Japan.

Thanks.
