Can I use JR Nagano pass on Shinano line?

I need to ask about JR East Nagano-Niigata pass that can or can't use on Shinano limited express between Nagano and Matsumoto because i foundt that the line is operated by JR Central not JR East. If it can't use, please advise how to travel between Nagano and Matsumoto by this pass
