Day trip to Niseko from Sapporo

Hello
I will be visiting Sapporo in late March 2023.
I will be buying the 14D JR pass (after Hokkaido, I will go Honshu).
From Sapporo, I intend to make a day trip to Niseko for sightseeing only using my JR pass.
May I ask which JR station (Niseko or Kutchan) should I alight?
Is it worth a trip to go Niseko since I dont intend to ski or take part in any winter activities?

Since it's a 3 hour trip one way to Niseko from Sapporo - what's the purpose of your visit?
