Can dependant work remotely?

I currently work in Japan. So I applied for the eligibility of my husband and got the visa. So he will be coming to Japan under dependent visa. I will be taking care of the expenses when he is Japan. So my questions are , he is planing to work remotely to his company in sri lanka while staying in Japan with me.. He wonft be remitting any money to Japan. So my question is,
1)is it illegal to work remotely under a dependent visa?
2) if he do so does he have to pay tax in Japan?
3) if he brings a vacation letter from his company will that be safe??
The thing is when the salary is converted to JPY it wonft be a big figure, so he we are a little worried about that plus he is not able to resign any sooner.
