Bus Nakatsugawa to Magome - cash or Suica?

We will hike from Magome to Tsumago this November. Must we pay cash for the bus from Nakatsugawa to Magome or is using SUICA also possible?

It seems that the local bus company does not accept any IC cards. Cash only.
