Koseki Fee Payment Methods

I live in the USA and I am in contact with a City Hall that has confirmed my family Koseki. They have requested a 500 yen fee for the document. What are the payment methods available? I understand that the old method of US Postal Service International Money Order is no longer accepted by Japan, and that credit cards, checks, bank transfers and PayPal are also not accepted. I do not have direct relatives in Japan and do not want to pay a third party a fee, since all the work has been completed. Thanks

As far as I know, they only accept the local postal money order (or equivalent). Often they say it is best to ask a relative in Japan to do this…
