Hi Jugantor,
Do you mean to do a day trip to Kobe from Osaka and then visit Suma beach? Is it doable?
Thanks!

Any trip to the beach will be a day trip. Hyogo, Wakayama or Shiga are 45-90 minutes away.

Shirahama is a hot springs beach resort about 100 kilometers south of Osaka. It does have a bathing suit required hot spring right on the beach. I am guessing that this might work for you. There are also two amusement parks, Adventure World, and Energy Park. I was in Shirahama in May, just after Golden Week, and while I didnft go in the water. But, it looked like a middle school class had an outing to Shirahama Beach, and they DID go in the water. The ocean near the beach must have some geothermal heating. Check out Shirahama here on Japan Guide Web Page: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e4958.htmlGood Luck, in planning your trip.

Sorry. I've never been to Wakayama, so I didn't know that the beach at Shirahama opens in May. However, many people seem to often go swimming in the sea from the latter half of June. The average temperature in June is about 25‹ maximum and 22‹ minimum. There are a lot of giant pandas in Adventure World, so even if you don't have much time to play in the sea, you can still enjoy yourself.
