In Canada, it is easy to become self-employed, the process of business/partnership registration is very simple, and you can get started charging people for your services right away, without having to start a corporation. How is it like in Japan for comparison?

As for tax - in Canada as a self-employed individual, you can write off business expenses taking it out from your gross revenue, and thus pay the tax only on the remainder. Is it similar in Japan for self-employed individuals?
