View the sunrise on mt Fuji in April by bus? 2023/1/17 04:00
I saw it's dangerous to climb mt Fuji out of its hiking seasons and I am planning on being in Japan from March till midway April. I was wondering if it's possible to travel by bus to a mountain hut or something and watch the sunrise from there or walk from the nearest hut to the summit to watch it.

Thanks in advance!!

No.

Your last sentence gwalk from the nearest hut to the summith shows quite clearly that you are not a seasoned mountaineer.

No, it would not be possible.

There are a total of 10 checkpoints to the summit, you can get to number 5 by bus but you'll have to climb the rest of the way. Most people who want to view the sunrise at the summit spend a night at around checkpoint 8 or so, then wakeup in the middle of the night (around 2am or so depending on your speed and the sunrise time etc) to finish their ascent to the top arriving just in time.

Climbing is usually not possible during this period.

According to the article, all routes leading to Mt. Fuji are closed to traffic.
(Excluding the Fuji Subaru Line, it will not open until after 9:00 until April 19.)
