Our group, approx 10 people, are senior people age 70+-. We plan to visit Japan during autumn leaves this year. Some of us have already visited Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto)
during the autumn leaves season. So we would like to go northern part (Hokkaido, Tohoku region) for ex. Sendai, Hokkaido, Sapporo. After studying the autumn leaves view points
in northern part, we found that most recommend view points are national parks. The autumn leaf view points recommended by japan-guide.com
https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2014_where.html#hokkaido.
And it seems that it is not good for senior people due to not being easy to go there by bus or train and we have to walk a lot in order to explore the national park.
According to my understanding, there are not so many view points in town, unlike Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka where there are many view points in town which we can go easily
by bus or by train. Also, there are many view points around the city which can easily get there by bus and/or train. Each view points can be easy to explore by walking distance
unlike exploring national parks where we have to walk a lot.
So, we would like to get suggestions from experienced persons that is it worth going to the northern part of Japan to see the autumn leaves and whether is it too difficult for senior people
in terms of traveling and walking to explore the area?
