Nikko Pass advance activation 2023/1/23 12:45
I’m planning a day trip from Tokyo.

Can I pickup and activate the Nikko all area pass a day before my planned trip so i can ride the first train out to Nikko the next day?

If the website is correct, you can purchase the pass online up to 2 days before first use.
"・Passes may be purchased online up until two days before the departure date.
(Three days in advance when booking both limited express tickets and passes)"

When will you travel? In what month?
What Nikko sites do you plan to visit?

Your Tobu Nikko Pass should be activated, I think,
when you get into the entrance ticket gate for the first time;
that means, you don't have to waste one day of its validity term.

The first direct train bound for Tobu-nikko is
Limited Express Revaty Kegon 1;
all the seats require reservation.

Tobu Nikko Pass does not cover the Limited Express surcharge;
you pay additionally
1470 yen (price until March the 17th, 2023) or
1650 yen (price from March the 18th, 2023)
for your ride from Asakusa to Tobu-nikko.

On Saturday, March the 18th,
Tobu Railway (and many other major railway operators)
will revise train timetables.

Regarding this Limited Express train,
the departure and arrive time seems to remain the same.

Limited Express Revaty Kegon 1:
Asakusa (Dep. 06:30) -- (Arr. 08:24) Tobu-nikko.

- Tobu Railway: Limited Express Revaty

By the evening of the previous day,
you visit Tobu Tourist Information Center ASAKUSA
(open from 7:20 a.m. to 7 p.m.);
you purchase your pass,
reserve your seat and pay the surcharge
for your Limited Express train ride,
and then receive your pass and Limited Express ticket.

Asakusa Station of Tobu is a little away
from subway Asakusa Stations of Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway.

I recommend you check well the route between your hotel and the station.

Enjoy your trip!
