Employer change same visa different industry 2023/2/4 10:55
Hi! Is it necessary to re-apply for a new visa (same type of visa) to the immigration bureau if changing employers? The residence status will be the same (Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa), job description will be a bit different, but still the same occupation (still chemical engineer), however, the previous and new employers are from completely different industries.
Thanks!

If the nature of your work is going to be the same (in the same category), you just report the change of employer to immigration.

I donft know how long you have left on your current resident status, but the next time you go to renew/extend your current resident status, your new employer would have to provide evidence of the employment (contract, etc).

If you're just changing your company but under the same type of job with your visa type, you don't need to change your visa. You just need to let immigration know that you're working in the new company.
