Stopover at Lake Toya 2023/3/2 20:14
Hi,

I am travelling to Hokkaido in May. My journey is all on public transport and no driving. I plan to stopover at Lake Toya and Usuzan Ropeway on my way from Hakodate to Sapporo. How is public transportation and availability of taxis around the area?

From my research online, the current plan is to take the public transport from JR Toya Station to Toyako Onsen Bus Terminal and then either take a bus or taxi from there. Or would a direct taxi from JR Toya Station to Showashinzan be better choice? It seems like there is little published information on bus schedules. From what I read, bus frequency is also low.

Advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah thats not really a good place for a quick stop over. Buses and in general public transport is laking.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected. How is the availability of taxis then?
