I will be in Fukuoka from Apr 3 to Apr 6. Apr 6 to Apr 8 - Hiroshima Apr 8 to Apr 11 - Kanazawa Apr 11 to Apr 14 - Tokyo Apr 14 to Apr 15 - Izu Peninsula Apr 15 to Apr 17 - Tokyo
Based on the itinerary above, I was searching for the best deal in terms of train / shinkansen tickets. Was looking at the JR Pass, but not sure which one to buy. Anyone can advise? Thank you.

This does not include any side trips.
Hakata (Fukuoka) —> Hiroshima - 9,100 yen Hiroshima —> Kanazawa - 15,910 yen Kanazawa —> Tokyo - 14,380 yen Tokyo —> Atami - 4,270 yen Atami —> Tokyo - 4,270 yen
Total 47,930 yen 14-Day JR Pass - 47,250 yen.
Soc without side trips, like Miyajima Island, you are covered, and the pass pays off. The first three legs listed are also covered within 7 days, so you could use a 7-Day JR pass, and then get something like the Tokyo Wide Pass to cover the Izu Peninsula.
You are in Japan for 15 days, so one day would not be covered. This means that the 14 day pass could also cover transportation to one of the airports, like to Tokyo Narita. My guess would be to not cover the first day, because the subway trip from Fukuoka Airport to Hakata Station is not that much.
Good luck, planning your trip.
