alpine route near opening day

How is the Alpine route in mid April assuming a clear day? I understand the main attraction is the snow wall. How are the views on other parts of the route? Mostly covered in snow or with brown grass/leafless trees?

As you can see, there is only little snow in the "lower" areas, such as around Kurobe Dam.
