Any evening bus to kawaguchiko off season

I am planning to climb mt Fuji on 8th July daytime on the Yoshida trial. I expect to finish around 6-7pm in the evening. Is there any way to get from Saburu 5th station to kawaguchiko station by public transport at this time on 8th July (before the climbing season bus schedule starts)? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

July 8 is not off-season. It is during the official climbing season.

The bus timetables for 2023 have not been published yet.

Last year - when Japan was still in the pandemic mood - the last bus of the day left Kawaguchiko Station already at 17:20, but in 2019 the buses departed at 19:00.

To clarify: before the pandemic the timetable switch between season and off-season used to happen on July 1. During the pandemic, the timetables were different in many ways.

We have to wait and see whether they can return to pre-pandemic timetables. Considering the fact that the company can expect a return of a large number of foreign climbers, I would certainly expect an increase of buses. But a shortage of bus drivers may complicate the situation. I am not sure.

In 2022 the climbing season timetable did not come into effect until 16th July, even though the Yoshida trail opened on 1st July. I am worried that if I finish my climb late in the evening I will not be able to get back to my hotel in kawaguchiko if it just before the climbing season bus timetable starts. Do you know when the new timetable will be published or how I can find out? Otherwise will need to book alternative accommodation. Thank you 🙏

This is the page where the new timetables will be published. I am not sure when it will happen. Fujikyu is generally not known to update their online timetables in a well organized way and with ample of advance notice.
