Mt. Fuji hut wait list?

Hello!

I've unsuccessfully tried to get huts along the Yoshida and Subashiri trails, but they've filled up almost immediately after opening for booking. Are there any huts where you can wait list yourself?

If we don't manage to get a booking we're still fairly intent on making the trip. Any tips on getting sleep? We'll be going up and resting before doing the rest of the walk to catch the sunrise.

Looking at this, it seems that you can make a reservation if it is Subashiri.

I was in the same situation a couple weeks ago and found Taiyokan, a hut located on 7th station of Subashiri trail (3,090m). It still has a lot of available dates during July and August.

Another alternative is Toyokan hut, this is located on Yoshida Trail (3,000m) between the 7th and 8th station. Reservation for 2023 climbing season open 1st June, 10 am Japan time.

Thanks for your suggestions. It's a bit too far down for my taste as I would barely get sleep before I'd need to move on. I'd rather be higher up for the rest bit. I might just take a chance on there being free resting spots when I get around the 8th stations.
