Shoren-in Temple hours

Hi!

I plan to visit Shoren-in end of November. I believe they also have autumn night illumination events at that time. I�fve found out about their hours:
9:00 to 17:00 (entry until 16:30)
Seasonal illuminations: 18:00 to 22:00 (entry until 21:30)
Does this mean if we want to view it in the day time as well as for the night illumination, we must exit by 5pm and re-enter after 6pm? Also paying 2 separate entrance fees?

In general - that is correct.

These temples also often have a short hour or so when they are closed.

Also note that the lines to visit these temples in November can be out of this world. Often over an hour in some cases

My experience was from 2013 which is really before Kyoto became more overrun than it was just before covid. You have been warned.....
