What if I miss the last bus from Mt Fuji?

My friends and I are planning a day hike on the Yoshida trail. The earliest we can get to 5th station leaving from Kawaguchiko station is 7:30am. The last bus leaves 5th station at 6:40pm. What happens if we miss this bus? What are our options for getting down? Are we stuck?

You could call a taxi, but I think it would set you back by around 15,000 yen. Or uou could try to get a bed at a hut at or near the 5th station, but they could be full and would come with a similar cost per person.

It has been reported in the news that most spaces in huts are already booked-out (as of a week ago).

The Fuji Subaru Line closes at 20:00, but cars can go uphill until 18:00.
Opening time is 3:00.
No vehicles are allowed during that time.

Ok so what I think I will do then is take a cab/taxi early in the morning after 3:00 and take the bus down after.

By the way, the late-night fare is added to the taxi fare until 5:00 in the morning, increasing by 20%.
After looking for a place to rest on the Yoshida Trail, I found that many days at Fujisan miharashi (Yoshida Trail 5th station) there were still vacancies.
The price is also cheaper than a taxi because you can stay from 7500 yen.
If you can catch the first bus, it might be a good idea to stay overnight.

This happened to me last night. I took too long to come down and missed the last bus to Kawaguchiko. I, and the 20+ other people that missed the bus, had to wait in an extremely uncomfortable room until 3:30am when taxis could get past the gate. You can call the taxi company in advanced to request a taxi at 5th station to come get you at 3:30am, they are quite used to it since it apparently happens a lot.
