Hi, I will be traveling from Hachinohe to Kakunodate and will require change of Shinkansen at Moriaka Station. There is 50 minutes between the train. I am wondering could I get out of the station at Moriaka and for some food then return to board the train to Kakunodate?
Thanks!

Yes, tickets that cover distances over 100 kilometers allow you to get on and off along the way. Hachinohe to Kakunodate is 155 kilometers.

Yes, but to be precise, it's because basic-fare tickets (in this case, the ticket from Hachinohe all the way through to Kakunodate) that cover distances over 100 kilometers allow you to get on and off along the way, and because you're using a different express-surcharge ticket from Morioka to Kakunodate.
In other words, users reading this post should keep in mind that you cannot get off at a station and use the same express-surcharge ticket upon re-entering the station.
