What water sports activities in Japan?

Does anybody have any experience with water sports in Japan, like canoeing, canyoning, rafting or something similar? I'd love to get some recommendation...

There are several meetup groups in Tokyo that seem to go rafting (I think mainly in Okutama) quite frequently. Have a look at meetup.
Other water sports that are sting in Japan are diving (Eg in Izu peninsula) , fishing (in a lot of places) and surfing (Eg in Chiba or Enoshima)
