Okuhida Onsen

Hi everybody,

I am currently planning my third visit to Japan end of October, and will do a little road trip from the region of Niigata to Kii Hanto.
I have basically two routing options, that i both find intruiging. One would lead me through Okuhida Onsen where i would plan for an overnight Possibly Camping) What i am not sure about is how busy Okuhida is. I love more secluded and remote locations, and for exampe have been to Kawayu onsen in Wakayama three years ago, which seemed to be a really sleepy and lovely spot at the time being. Is Okuhida Onsen comparable or is it a much developed and crowded place? Thanks for your replies.

Kawayu ist one of my most favorite onsen in Japan.
Anyhow in Okuhida you will find kinda similar in the area. I dont think it is very crowded.
Especially if you are willing to walk, you might even find some secret onsen :-)
