Written entry on my COE

We just received my COE for dependent visa and noticed that the last three letters of my middle name was written, so it looked like it was just added to make the name complete. Is this normal?

your name on your passport must match exactly to your name in the COE document. otherwise, you may encounter problems, when you apply your visa at embassy and enter to Japan at airport.
