Can a disable person moving to Japan? 2023/9/7 16:55
Hello, I am planning to move to Japan in october 2024 as a university student and am planning to get my husband later via dependent visa. My husband is disabled person in a wheel chair with critical spinal cord injury and cannot move without it. He had his accident while he was in university and could not complete his bachelor's degree. Right now he is studying japanese language. He works as a seo specialist and a content writer, from home. Is it possible for him to move to japan through dependent visa? Will he be able to find a job there in japan? What aspects should he develop before entering japan in order to find a better job or any job at all?

This is potentially a complex topic which I know I don't know enough to answer accurately - but potentially talking to a migration expert in Japan is a possibility.

The only thing I'll say is the following - Japan is currently facing a large ageing population which means that staffing health care is increasingly becoming a problem. The Japanese government is often very pragmatic with these types of things - such as starting to employ an increasing number of mid skilled Vietnamese/Filipino workers to fill the gaps in things such as aged care.

What does this have to do with your position? Well - they MAY (so I might be wrong) be more strict with dependent visas for people who have more potential needs. Others who actually directly live in Japan with dependents will know more than I
