Zairyu card expired during COVID

Firstly, a quick thank you to the everyone responding on this forum. Itfs been of great help to all.
Herefs my question - My zairyu card expired in 2022 during COVID but I got a friend in Japan to get a letter from immigration that certifies my re-entry, which is valid till January 2024.
I will be visiting Japan in November 2023 with a valid re-entry stamp on my passport but an expired Zairyu which I intend to renew once there. Just wanted to check if there would be any issues at Japan immigration?
I intend to show them the letter from immigration office that states that I have a valid re-entry but an expired residence card. Has anyone faced a similar situation?

That's what the letter is for. Arrive with all the documentation, and you be fine.
