Ryuonji Temple

I tried using google to look for bus travel infomation to the temple from sonobe station. It was quite confusing since it does not say the bus number to take. Different travel timing seems to be have different connecting buses and alight at different bus stops as well. The buses to the temple does not seems to run frequently which makes planning difficult. I am going on a weekday. Based on what I researched, it seems like I need to allocate as least a 5 hours for this place? Is there a better app or where can I get more accurate bus infomation to avoid getting lost there as there is another location I need to get to later part of the day. Is there a tourist center at sonobe station or bus information center?

As this page says until Sonobe station it is straightforward. But from there your best choice is a taxi.

Take bus 40, 44, or 47, get off at Funasaka bus stop (船阪バス停,Funasaka bus-tei, 13th bus stop), and walk for about 16 minutes.
If you take the 44 bus (bound for Fukusumi,福住行き,Fukusumi iki), the Nie bus stop(仁江バス停,Nie bus-tei） is one stop away, and it's about an 8 minute walk from there.
I think you can find out how to get there by searching for a route on Google Maps.

HI Haro1210, I did found the same timetable when I was doing the research to travel to the temple. But I do not understand the bus timetable. Could you enlighten me how to read the timetable? The bus timetable does not seems to state the bus stops that it will be stopping at. And so, I do not know which bus number wll be stopping at the bus stop near the temple.

To return to sonobe station, do I board at the same bus stop where I alight either at 船阪バス停 or 仁江バス停? or the return bus stop is located opposite?

Timetables can be converted into Japanese using translation software.
Check bus lines 40, 44, or 47.
The gray part is the hour, and the numbers below are the minutes.

All the bus stop names were displayed when searching for a route on Google Maps, but I am not sure if they would be displayed on the English version of Google Maps.
There is no English-speaking tourist information center in Sonobe.

Looking at Google Maps Street View, Funasaka bus stop had bus stops on both sides. It's not directly in front of you, but at a slight angle.
The sidewalk on the other side of the Nie bus stop is very narrow, so it looks like the bus stop is not on one side.
It is located further south than the location on Google Maps (where the lines on the left intersect with Kyoto Prefectural Route 54).
Normally, if there is only one bus stop on either side, the timetable for the bus stop on the opposite side is also posted.
