We will be arriving at Narita from the U.S. we are bringing vitamins, Ibuprofen, Tylenol and a BP med that is approved for Japan. Should we pack these in our carry-on for any inspection on arrival or pack in our checked bag? We would prefer packing in checked bag as our carry-ons are pretty small.

As far as a i know, non-prescription medication that is for your personal use, approved for use in Japan, and under one month worth of supply does not require any permit or declaration. So it will be fine just packing them in checked baggage.

If any of these are really important (possibly the BP medication?), it would be unwise to put them in a checked bag. You can buy tylenol and ibuprofen in Japan, although the doses might be different from what youfre used to, and you might be able to find the vitamins there (?), but if the airline loses your bag it would be a time-consuming nuisance for you to get prescription medicine replaced. Bags donft get lost too often, but it does happen.
You donft have to worry about Japan regulations bringing these things into the country as long as itfs no more than a 30-day supply. They donft ask or check.
