Forgotten item in coin locker

I forgot my jacket in a coin locker in Tokyo station. I tried to retrieve it 24 hours later but was given the run around and gave up. I have the exact locker number and station I forgot it.

I will be back in Tokyo in 1 month. Anyone have an idea on how to find my jacket?

in general, coin lockers are not JR's properties. JR company rends their space to coin locker company. coin locker companies may differ depending on stations.
when you left somethings in a coin lockers, after a few days, coin locker company collect those items to their company and keep several days for returning them to you. but, no one comes to collect them, they will send them to police.
so, in occlusion, JR station is not a correct place to ask. but, they will tell you where you should go.
