Transport on Public Holiday

Hi - we are planning on going from Tokyo to Kusatsu Onsen on Labour Day, 23 November. Will transport be busy? Should we reserve in advance? Also, is it better to get a bus straight there or a train and bus? Thanks in advance for advice!

It is a single, isolated holiday, so the traffic volume can be expected to be quite moderate only. I still would recommend to make seat reservations in advance for peace of mind, though.
I personally prefer the journey by train and bus, because I don't like bus travel. But people have different opinions and preferences.
