Day trip from Nagoya

I'm rent a car for the day from Nagoya to check out the autumn colors in Korankei. I know the daylight hours are short, but was wondering if there were any other stops nearby or along the way in Aichi that might be recommended?

My Recommendation goes to Ichinomiya city
It is very close to nagoya as a day trip

We spent a very happy couple of hours at Meiji Mura outdoor museum in early April, with cherry blossoms in full bloom. I imagine it's also very picturesque when the leaves are turning.

I'm not sure if the others understood your question. Korankei is in Toyota City, so Meiji Mura and Ichinomiya suggested above are not "on the way".

Thank you, I'll take a look. I was thinking about heading to Obara thought not on the way either. Wasn't sure if it was overrated or not though.

I have not been to Obara, but I am not aware of anywhere else in Japan with so many fall cherry blossoms, and those combined with the autumn leaves at the very least makes it a unique spot. I would definitely like to visit sometime, but I believe there are typically very few days where both the leaves and cherry blossoms are beautiful. On top of that, the weather needs to be sunny, so it's difficult to time it right.

The traffic around Korankei seems to get pretty congested particularly on the weekends during the autumn foliage season, so much so that bus company, when they list the time table, warns that their bus might be delayed by 2 hours or so.
