Do I need a JR Kansai Wide Area Pass or should I buy tickets separately?
Day 1: Kansai Airport to Osaka in the early morning, Osaka trip for this day.
Day 2: Take a train from Osaka to Kyoto, and then return to Osaka.
Day 3: Osaka to Kyoto by train and return to Osaka.
Day 4: Osaka to Kinosaki Onsen.
Day 5: Kinosaki Onsen to Osaka.
Day 6: Osaka trip , Head to Kansai Airport in the evening

Kansai Wide Area pass is 12000 yen and Osaka to Kinosaki onsen is more than 6000 yen one way so the pass is easily pay off. Note that this pass is valid for 5 consective calendar days so you have to buy separate tickets for day 1 or day 6.
