With 4 people a taxi might actually be the most convenient. But yes, that bus is direct.

Riding that bus seems to be the best option, but if you don't mind transferring between trains and subways or want to experience them, this route is also available.
1. Take the JR Yamanote Line (Line JY) from Ikebukuro to Ueno. 2. Transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line (Line G) at Ueno to get to Asakusa.
The advantage of this route is its higher frequency compared to the direct bus. But it can be confusing because it requires a train change at Ueno. If you don't have an IC card like SUICA or PASMO, you will need to purchase tickets twice, once at Ikebukuro and again at Ueno. Furthermore, it may cost more than taking just one bus.
Therefore, in conclusion, taking the direct bus (or using a taxi) is the better option.
