Boarding a horse in Japan 2023/12/5 12:14
I saw a similar post regarding buying land in Japan but I was wondering if there is a place to board or rent a stall for your horse in Okinawa? My fiancé is getting stationed there for a deployment and I want to go but I cant leave my horses behind. I already know the restrictions with dogs. I just didnt know what the process was with horses and were I could pay to keep them at. Thank you.

Are you going to live and/or bring your horse to a U.S. military base (which is technically part of the United States of America) or are you going to live and/or bring your horse to a place outside the military base (where Japanese laws would apply)? They're two different things.

"My fiancé is getting stationed there for a deployment"
So, before dealing with your horses, what is your status of residence going to be, or are you going to be under SoFA and have permission from the base commander? As a "fiance", that means zero in terms of relationship recognised by Japanese immigration.
Of course, you will also have to re-export your horses when returning to the US. Sounds expensive, but I suppose owning horses isn't cheap.
