Can you still go to Osaka Castle?

Hi, I have a trip to see Osaka Castle up close on Dec 30, and I heard that the Osaka Castle Museum and Garden is close that day, can we still go there and see osaka castle up close? Not entering inside the castle nor the garden.

Yes, most of the impressive castle grounds are open. Only the paid areas (interior of buildings and the Nishinomaru garden) will be closed.

Sure you can. Actually you wouldn't really be missing much anyway. It really isn't a castle at all - it's a museum with a castle facade. Worth some pictures from outside and exploring the ramparts. But if you can, and want to see a real castle, go to Himeji (though it's closed Dec 29-30).
