Hakone - Gotemba Outlet - Kyoto

Hi,
Is this do-able?
Spending Friday night in Hakone.
Take train from Shinkuju on Friday and do the usual loop (lake, shrine, pirate ship, ropeway, museum).
Sat morning after checkout, take bus to Gotemba outlet - spend a couple of hours shopping and then take bus back to Hakone - train to Odawara and transfer to shinkansen.
I read that traffic can be very bad; have anyone any experience? I dont want to miss the train to kyoto.
