Itinerary Feedback / Advice

So we are off to Japan in November this year for 2 weeks. We realise that we cannot cover all of Japan so we need to be smart with our itinerary. We both like food, gardens and history. For our 2 week stay this is as far as we have got regarding planning. 2 nights in Tokyo on arrival, 5 nights in Kyoto which leaves us with 6 nights left of which we want to finish off in Tokyo so another 2 nights in Tokyo before we fly home. That leaves us with around 4 days to visit 1 or 2 places. We would do day trips from and spend time in Kyoto. That part of the itinerary feels reasonable but with only 4 days left where on earth do we go.
Considered - Nagano, Takayama, Kanazawa, Naoshima 1 or 2 of those but if someone has a better idea for us to consider we would be grateful. Thank you.

Those locations you are considering have offerings that are completely different from each other.

No good asking strangers on the internet to decide for you.

You choose what you like from your own interests.

One thing I would say is for example is Takayama is slow to get to. Anything slow to get to take time away from itself or other locations I'd you are in a rush.
