Visa to Japan from Egypt

Hello, I am a U.S. citizen planning to visit Japan with a friend from Egypt. They need to apply for a visa, which can be challenging.

I have heard about a letter of guarantee, but it seems to be primarily for Japanese residents. Since I will be covering my friend's expenses during the trip, I am wondering if there is something similar that can be submitted with the visa application. Additionally, any advice or information on how to enhance the visa application for my friend would be greatly appreciated.
