Nonrelated Degree but Experience, Visa Chance

I just got a job offer in Software Development programming having 2.5 years of Experience working in the field. I'm worried that the work visa application is going to get rejected since I have a Degree+Masters in a VERY different field (psychology).
They've asked for transcripts so I think it'll get rejected since I haven't done any units in programming at all. I'm honestly close to investing in getting an IT degree if this gets rejected.
Just wanted to hear other people's experiences?

In my experience of hiring foreigners for the ENGINEER / SPECIALIST in HUMANITIES / INTERNATIONAL SERVICES residence status, the field of university study mostly did not matter. As long as they had a bachelor degree or better. If your company has hired foreigners before and is not using an inept immigration laywer, you can assume that you will get the visa.

You do realsie that most/many university graduates never actually use the degree that they studied for. I employed a lot of grads in some previous companies I ran and I was looking for an ability to think/do, rather than what their subject was. One of the earliest was an engineering graduate for a job that had zero engineering. The requirement is a degree, not a degree in XYZ subject. .

Your field of study definitely matters. It should be related to your intended work. It's a basic requirement if you don't have sufficient experience. Here is one of many sites that claim it matters: https://eng.daikou-office.com/list/humanities/However, as the previous posters stated, it may not matter in the end. There are many rules or laws in Japan that are more like guidelines and not set in stone.
