Hello. On our day in Arashiyama, we want to see the following:
Otagi Nenbusto (8 am open) Adashino Nenbutso temple (9 am open) Preserved street Hozu River Boat Ride Togetsukyo Bridge
How is it best to organize our day? If we take taxi from train station, to Otagi Nenbutso for 8 am open, can we walk to Adashino for 9 am open? Where next? thanks all

@H, how will I get from preserved street to bridge to river cruise? going with my 22 year old daughter so think train ride and boat will take up too much time. would prefer boat...
will monkeys be active late may? was not planning on monkey park for that reason.
thanks all

JR train Saga-Arashiyama to Kameoka. Same station you originally arrived at.
Boat and bridge are interchangeable as the point finish location is near the bridge.
I doubt you'll have time for the monkey park since you are doing the far flung temples.

Let's really over estimate times needed including walking. Starting at 8am at 1st temple.
1st temple 1hr 2nd temple 1hr Street 1hr Lunch 1hr Train 1hr (25mins Saga-Arashiyama to Kameoka) Boat 2hrs Bridge 1hr (15mins at bridge, more for surrounding area?)

Your order looks fine. You can see the bridge before or after the Hozugawa River cruise. It's always there 24/7 though, so you might as well make it last. Timewise, unless your pace is very slow, or you really want to get into the shopping at the preserved street, you could likely fit more places there into the day. I don't know where you got the spelling of Otagi or Adashino "Nenbusto" - it's "Nenbutsuji". Anyone who went there can tell you that easily enough - but neither place takes that long. You also might like the bamboo grove at the back of Adashino Nenbutsuji - it's much less known than the Sagano Bamboo Grove, so not many people. https://youtu.be/0PAE1Puv21Y The river cruise takes the longest - a couple of hours. As mentioned, you could pair it with the Sagano train. One other place you could add is Gioji, especially from late spring to the end of autumn - the moss garden is wonderful. Tenryuji is also very good - you can just pay to see the garden if you wish.

It's easy to see if you look at a map like Google Maps - it is in between the bridge and Adashino Nenbutsuji, just a bit over half a kilometer away and no detour needed. You could also in the end walk through the Sagano grove + Nonomiya Shrine and also see the Kimono forest at the very end if you like - they don't close, and most of the mobs of tourists have left the grove by evening.
