Hinotori Kintetsu Limited Express 2024/6/17 00:00
Wefve purchased Kintetsu Rail Pass Plus (5 days).
We would like to take Hinotori Kintetsu Limited Express from Osaka-Namba to Kintetsu Nagoya station with premium seats.

1) Do we need to buy the basic fare ticket?
2) If no, do we need to pay for both limited express ticket and premium seat fees or only the fee for premium seat (which is shown on the website: 900 yen)? Please advise.

We would like to book in advance as the seats seem limited

No, the base fare is covered by your pass.

2) If no, do we need to pay for both limited express ticket and premium seat fees or only the fee for premium seat (which is shown on the website: 900 yen)? Please advise.

Both.

Hey all,

I purchased a ticket online just now and I know I need the basic fare ticket to be paid before departure from Osaka,

Do I need anything beyond the confirmation and payment receipt I got from the online purchase that was emailed to me please?

I purchased a ticket online just now and I know I need the basic fare ticket to be paid before departure from Osaka,

Note that instead of buying a basic fare ticket, you can also use an IC card, such as Suica or Icoca, to pay for the base fare at the ticket gates.

You also need the car and seat number you made the reservation for, which should also be part of the limited express ticket. If you sit in the correct seat, you are likely not even going to get bothered showing any tickets.

Regarding the basic fare, you can use Kintetsu Rail Pass Plus which you already purchased.
So you don't need other IC Card.
You need to book Hinotori and pay for limited express fee and seat reservation fee.

Thanks everyone.

So Uji, if I use the Suica it automatically calculates the basic fare when I go through the gates at Osaka and finally Nagoya please?

You don't have to use ICOCA. Use Kintetsu Rail Pass.

Sorry, I just realized that you mentioned in your first post that you have the Kintetsu Rail Pass!

In that case - as mentioned by Kakuhiro - the base fare is covered by your pass!!!

(But, yes, if you were to use the IC card, it would autimatically be caluclated.)

Hi Uji,

So I've paid the Hinotori limited express charge and do not have a Kintetsu pass for the train.

I am a bit confused though- from what I read Suica cannot be used between different IC card areas, but area you saying it can be used to pay for the basic fare between Osaka and Nagoya please?

You are not traveling between different areas! The entire Kintetsu network is within the Pitapa area.
