Is bmi 16 considered fat in Japan? 2024/6/27 04:27
Ifm 165 cm and 44 kg, I want to be able to buy cute clothes when I go to Japan but I would be very embarrassed if I was too fat and then directed to a store for heavy girls. Ifve seen stuff where the Japanese consider regular weights like bmi 19 or 20 to be borderline obese. This is a legitimate question, Ifm not asking to be mean to anyone.

(I assume you are a woman) Average height for Japanese Women is 158 cm. Average weight is 52.9 kg. I think in most cases you will probably be fine. It also probably depends on what store you are in.

That's very skinny. I hope you're eating properly. A wrong diet will make you regret once you get much older.

No, that's skinny, even for Japan.

The only issue for clothing would be your height (for exemple, forget about tights, they will likely be too short for you).

Not a women here, but your biggest problem can potentially be the cut for most clothes if you like them tight fitting.

I do not know your nationality, but if you are western then these body types often have curves in different locations.

Hi,

I know this is not the information you are looking for but I am genuinely concerned about the nature of your question and the measurements that you give. Depending on your age you could be severely underweight, and not being able to recognise that is an issue.

If in the UK, you can check the recommended weight range for your height here: https://www.nhs.uk/health-assessment-tools/calculate-your-body-mass-in...

You can also access support if needed here: https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/

Wishing you health and happiness.
