Hi, Does anyone where the bamboo grove at Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple is located (inside the actual temple gates/after you pay admission?) Is it possible to access the bamboo grove before the temple's opening hours of 9am? Is there any parking to take a taxi there and ask them to wait to take us back?
Thanks!

You will have to pay the entrance fee to get tongue little bamboo grove. I enjoyed my visit there and think it is worth the fee.

You need to wait until the temple opens and buy an admission ticket for the entire complex, if you want to get into the bamboo grove. There are a couple of paid parking lots not far from the temple, or the cab driver might be able to find a place where he can just sit in the cab while he waits. Of course you will have to pay for the standing time as well as any parking lot fee.
But if youfre just in it for the bamboo and are interested in going before 9 a.m., I donft know if you really need to go to the trouble and expense of going to this temple, when you could just go to the more extensive and free gArashiyama bamboo forest.h The bamboo path at Adashino Nenbutsuji is not all that different in appearance. Itfs a nice and historic temple with some charming features, but with a cab waiting you probably arenft going to want to spend much time appreciating its other fine points. And although the famous bamboo forest is notorious for being crowded, the one at this temple is smaller and has a shorter path, so you canft really count on having it all to yourself or something. If you go early enough to the famous one, it might not be too badc

I've never heard of anyone going to the temple's bamboo grove without paying the entrance fee for the temple. It is smaller, but much less crowded than the Sagano Grove, which is slammed with waves of tourists during daytime hours. That said, Adashino's bamboo is getting more famous also, as I have seen numerous posts about it online elsewhere. It won't take long before there are a lot more people there as well. For a larger and still mostly unknown place, there is the Rakusai Bamboo Park (Rakusai Chikurin Koen) mentioned just above. It is more trouble to get to, though. Or if you veer off the torii tunnels, there is one at Fushimi Inari as well.

There is also a bamboo grove inside Kodaiji Temple. The temple and its gardens are nice to visit.

Thank you everyone for your info and suggestions, I will check them all out :) I absolutely don't mind paying entrance/parking fees. We are looking for a bamboo forest to do a pre-wedding photo shoot which is why I'm looking at 7am to try and avoid the crowds. Not sure if this will be early enough for the big one at Arashiyama. I don't want to be annoying to other patrons and equally would like to avoid having randoms in our wedding photos haha. We will also have a toddler with us so anything earlier than 7am will be tricky!
Hopefully I can find one that suits :)
Thank you!

While I'm here does anyone know if there are any bamboo groves that are close to some great cherry blossom spots, off the tourist trail?

Pre-wedding photo shoot in a temple? Temple is not a public property, so you should ask the temple. I have seen people taking wedding photos at Keage Incline during cherryblossom season, more than once. I wonder how those photos turn out with so many tourists in the background. Good photo editing could blur out unwanted people, I suppose. https://maps.app.goo.gl/amzANLZhFr128ymD8

Jizōin Temple (Take-no-tera) Google maps description: Commonly known as the Bamboo Temple for the forest that surrounds it, this temple was built in 1367.
No entrance fee listed so possibly free?

I can also support the comments of @LikeBike and @kona moon and state that the long Take-no-Michi (The Bamboo Path) in Muko City would be a good place to take photos with no one around and it's accessible and free. https://www.kyototourism.org/en/sightseeing/565/You can get there by bus or taxi from the train stations mentioned in the info at the link above. I recommend a taxi because it can take you all the way there and drive along the path to pick your favorite spot(s) for photos and the bamboo path is on top of a hill. When I rode my bicycle along the path a couple of years ago, I saw almost no one and I think just one car passed me. There are various types of bamboo fences alongside the path as well as a couple of kofun (ancient tombs) along the path and nearby. Another nice place in the area to take photos is Muko Shrine.
