Hiiragiya vs. Tawaraya

Dear all,

we stayed at Hiiragiya few years ago in Room #33, which was magnificient.
Though this time Hiiragiya has only space at dates which do not my itinerary as good as Tawaraya.

How does Tawaraya (especially room "Izumi") compare to Hiiragiya?
Especially in terms of food, general setting, hospitality?

Judging from my limited personal experience of staying at an amazing room at the Hiiragiya once and at amazing rooms at the Tawaraya twice, I found the Tawaraya superior, especially service-wise. I think it is as good as it gets. But that is just me. And 10 years ago.

We chose Tawaraya - got a room in the 2nd floor overlooking the garden.
