Taxi to/from Ine to Amanohashidate

Hi all,

Planning to go to Amanohashidate and Ine (time permitting).

Given the bus frequency is once per hour and the one-way journey also takes an hour, we are thinking to use taxi instead (15km distance).

Wondering if there will be many taxis available to take us to Ine and then back to Amanohashidate Station ?

There's a taxi stand next to Amanohashidate station, if there's no taxi available, you can ask the staff from the information centre (inside the train station) to make a call for you (that's what we did).
We just came back from our 0ct/Nov trip, it was a long weekend in Japan and we couldn't get any car rental in Amanohashidate. So we decided to take a taxi from Amanohashidate station to Ine, it took around 30-35 mins and it was 9800 yen. On the return trip we just asked our accommodation host to made the phone call for us, and the returned trip cost 9700 yen.

Also depends where you are staying in Ine, because we stayed right next to where the sightseeing ferry is, which is another 1.5 km distance to Ine town centre) so the taxi cost might be slightly different.
