Late bus from New Chitose to Sapporo 2024/10/11 03:04
Hello there,

My flight from Tokyo Narita will arrive at New Chitose airport at 19:35 hrs. Will I be able to catch a bus to downtown Sapporo at that hour? I'm planning to stay at either Hotel MYSTAYS Premier Sapporo Park or Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu.

Ifm travelling with aged parents so Ifm looking for a convenient bus route and stop. Please do advise, thanks!

There is a train. Should be faster than bus. Last train is leaving after 23:00 so you have plenty of time.

good morning

if your preference is airport limousine bus which reduces the hassles of carrying luggage in & out, up and down train station, then perhaps it is worthwhile considering the following hotels which have the airport limousine bus stop nearby. last airport limousine bus is scheduled to depart from airport as late as 22:55pm depending on the destination
https://www.hokto.co.jp/sapporo-chitose/

ƒzƒeƒ‹ƒ‚ƒ“ƒgƒŒƒG[ƒfƒ‹ƒzƒtŽD–y
ANAƒNƒ‰ƒEƒ“ƒvƒ‰ƒUƒzƒeƒ‹ŽD–y
ŽD–yƒOƒ‰ƒ“ƒhƒzƒeƒ‹
ƒzƒeƒ‹ƒŠƒ\ƒ‹ƒgƒŠƒjƒeƒBŽD–y
ŽD–yƒrƒ…[ƒzƒeƒ‹‘ε’ΚŒφ‰€
ŽD–yƒvƒŠƒ“ƒXƒzƒeƒ‹
ƒOƒ‰ƒ“ƒhƒƒ‹ƒLƒ…[ƒ‹ŽD–y‘ε’ΚŒφ‰€
‹ž‰€ƒvƒ‰ƒUƒzƒeƒ‹ŽD–y etc
Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo
ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Sapporo
Sapporo Grand Hotel
Hotel Resol Trinity Sapporo
Sapporo View Hotel Odori Park
Sapporo Prince Hotel
Grand Mercure Sapporo Odori Park
Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo etc

alternatively you can always consider hotels near the Sapporo station which are easily accessible by the airport limousine bus above until late hours

for Hotel MYSTAYS Premier Sapporo Park or Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu
they are situated near ’†“‡Œφ‰€ with the latest airport limousine bus departing
from CTS around 19:05~19:07pm which may be a touch too early for you

Your hotels are around Nakajima Koen subway station. The last bus to Nakajima Park from Shinchitose airport departs at around 19 so you cant catch bus. As LikeBike wrote, there are still JR trains to Sapporo station where you can take subway to Nakajima Park. It requires transfer at Sapporo station, but not so tiring (maybe less than 5 min walk). In any case you must walk from the station to the hotel.

Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions, LikeBike, anastasia and frog1954.

Most of the hotels on the airport bus route have been booked out during the snow festival, which is when wefll be in Sapporo. And the rest are sadly over our budget. Unfortunately the train will be a bit of a challenge as itfll be too tiring for my aged parents to walk to the hotel in the snow and after a long day of travelling from Malaysia.

I thought of taking the airport bus to Sapporo station instead (since there is later bus that departs for that station) and then a taxi from there to our originally planned hotels near Nakajima Park. Would you be able to advise where I can pre-check the taxi fare for the trip from Sapporo station? And how long the taxi ride would take? What do you think of this option?

Many thanks again!

good morning

i think taking taxi from JR sapporo station is a great idea
as there are usually lots of them just right in front of the station

otherwise transiting between JR sapporo station and sapporo subway station for ŽD–yŽs‰c“μ–kό
requires a 10min walk between the 2 stations
8min perhaps if you are familiar with the navigation underground
15min at least with luggage provided you dont get lost as a first time visitor

taxi fare from JR sapporo station to Hotel MYSTAYS Premier Sapporo Park
is around 1,150‰~, a 10min ride for 2.6km

have a wonderful trip and great time at the snow festival~

Another option is to take a flat rate taxi straight from the airport. It is 11000 yen plus the cost of tolls. Forgot how much tolls were, but it was under 1000 yen. It cost a more, but well worth it IMHO. We went from Odori Park area to the airport in about 50 minutes via the highway. I assume if you opt out of the highway you save on toll. Maybe someone else has more knowledge on that.

Re: Late bus from New Chitose to Sapporo 2024/10/17 20:03
Thanks so much, JapanWithKids! I did consider that option, too. The only thing is there are 6 adults and two teens in total, so I reckon we will need to get two taxis from the airport to the hotel.

I checked the fare using the weblink from anastasia and it will come up to 13,280 yen for one taxi, though I'm not sure if that depends on the number of passengers and luggage?

Would anyone know if there is a jumbo taxi that can accommodate all 8 of us at one go (plus luggage) and how much that would cost from Chitose airport to either MyStays Premier Sapporo Park or Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu?

Thanks!

https://app.nearme.jp/airport-shuttle/

a quote of 8 people and 8 suitcases is around Y22300

Thanks for the info, anastasia!

However, the paranoid me checked for reviews on that shuttle service and read lots of scary, negative feedback 😞

Do you know of any other taxi service that can accommodate my group of 8?

Yes Anastasia, I was kind of disappointed at the negative reviews about NearMe. I had such high hopes for that service.

But I really appreciate your other taxi transport suggestions, I will definitely check them out and probably go with one of them. You've been most helpful, thank you so much!
