Loose Leaf Goshuin Stamps 2024/10/29 02:46
On my recent trip I collected Goshuin stamps and completely filled one side of my book. I also have 11 loose leaf stamps, but I am unsure about how to incorporate them into my book. When I had filled up one side I asked the calligrapher to use the other side they seemed opposed to this, but maybe they were worried about the ink bleeding through? Is it common to use both sides of the book? I want to use the reverse to glue or tape in the loose leaf stamps. As well I have some loose leaf stamps that have intricate/ colorful designs on them and was wondering about incorporating these if it is not typically done or would look out of place?? My instincts tell me to use double stick tape what would you recommend?

Itfs up to you how you use the go-shuin stamp book.

I have one and I will probably not use the back side as the ink might go through. I already have a few that came as loose leaf, and i used paper glue (stick type, like Pritt) to glue them to the sheet of paper.

Also as I got this book from a shrine, I will collect only shrine stamps in to this book, and will get a separate book from a temple if in want to collect from temples.

good morning

it is more out of respect not to have ŒδŽιˆσ goshuin on both sides of the same paper
you wouldn't really want to do that to any god, would you :)
as it signifies personal pilgrimage to sacred places

please consider pocket books for ŒδŽιˆσ goshuin like below
without any need for glue or cello tapes
it is great for keeping odd shapes and different sizes also
https://www.amazon.co.jp/Writing-Goshuin-Storage-Pockets-Specification...

i think we gave up on educating foreign tourists about collection of ŒδŽιˆσ
traditionally best practice is to have separate, individual book ŒδŽιˆσ’  goshuin diary
for each shrine group eg ˆξ‰Χ_ŽΠ.. “V–ž‹{..

knowing that can be quite challenging for infrequent visitors
at least please try to keep one for jinja and a separate one for dera
as kindly suggested by AK

enjoy japan~
