Things to do before check in to Kawaguchiko?

Planning to take the train from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko early morning (8am). Assuming it takes 3 hours, I will be there at Kawaguchiko station around 11am, but my onsen hotel doesn't allow check in until 3pm. Any recommendations for things to do/eat for those 4 hours? Thanks.

Umm, most people would do sightseeing

Alternatives would be hiking , cycling, fishing, camping…

Or relaxing in an onsen.

Have lunch.

You can also take a bus from Tokyo station to Kawaguchiko and the view from the bus of Fuji San was fantastic if you get good weather.

While waiting for check in I took the ropeway and the views was great

Depending on where your resort is you might want to go up the hill with the views of Fuji and the pagoda or go to the big pond with fabulous views for lunch

There is also the ice cave to visit and the Instagram street with Fuji in the background.

Take the ropeway, take the lake cruise, have lunch, etc.
