Open Tokyo shopping areas Dec 29-Jan 1?

We will be in Tokyo from Dec 29-Jan 1. Will major shopping areas like Harajuku and the Nakamise Dore be open on any of these days?

Harajuku is right by Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Nakamise Dori is right by Asakusa Senso-ji Temple that the areas will be open on the 1 st in expectations of people coming to give their New Year prayers that it will be extremely crowded. Ifm not sure about the individual shopsf opening hours though.
