Luggage at Shimanami Kaido

Hi,

We are a family of 4 and thinking about a one day trip over the Shimanami Kaido. We have luggage which we want to send over with Sagawa express delivery from imabari to onomichi.

1. Does anybody have experience with this service?

I see most drop-off and pick-up points are at hotels.

2. Do you need to stay of these hotels to use this service? We were not planning to stay in any of these places.

No experience, but the Sagawa website lists one (only) hotel that allows non overnight guests to use it as a collection point: Onomichi Royal Hotel.

There would be more options if you did the route in reverse (ending in Imabari).

Yes, you can use Sagawa Express for luggage delivery along the Shimanami Kaido without staying at the hotels. Just drop off your luggage at any participating hotel or convenience store. Be sure to confirm the drop-off and pick-up points with Sagawa in advance!
