New entry requirements to Ginzan Onsen 2024/11/28 12:29
Hopefully there might be someone here with a better understanding of the new entry requirements to Ginzan Onsen. Because the more announcements that are being made, the more I am finding myself scratching my head.

So, I intend on visiting Ginzan Onsen as a day trip from Sendai in February. I know that I can't purchase an admission ticket till January 6th. So I have plenty of time to try and work my way around all of this and for there to hopefully be more clarification before then.

But, basically, the long story short. I intend on getting the 09:50am bus from Oishida Station to Ginzan Onsen. I then intend on returning to Oishida Station on either the 18:10pm city bus or the 17:50pm shuttle bus that is being included with the admission ticket.

The two options that I am currently looking at, are either just the admission ticket (and get on the city bus at 18:10pm) or go for the more expensive shuttle round trip + admission ticket. The later seems the more obvious option. However, now is where I've been trying to seek clarification and finding myself unsure of the answer.
If I did get the shuttle bus round trip + admission, I wouldn't be getting the 15:30pm shuttle bus from Oishida Station, because I will already be in Ginzan Onsen. But I don't know whether we receive our admission ticket once we're on the bus and whether missing that bus would invalidate my admission ticket. I have tried contacting the Ginzan Onsen association via their Google forms, but I have never received a response.

Now, I know that nobody here will most likely know the answer. But I am wondering if anyone else is finding themselves in a similar situation to myself?

I believe that the 18:10pm bus is an additional bus service to the one that also departs Ginzan Onsen at 18:21pm?

This bus gtourh seems to be something youfd book when you are staying over at the hot spring, and not for a day trip?

I donft know the answer to your question but what are you going to do at Ginzan onsen all that time? Itfs a very small (and nice) village. To see the entire village at a leisurely pace youfll need maybe 1 h. If you go to one of the public onsen, add an other hour. Then a bit of time to eat something. But after that I would be hard pressed to find anything to do there. Thus Ifd say 2, maximal 3 h in Ginzan should be enough. Unless you plan on some hiking from there .

I was about to post the same thing as LikeBike.

I think their bus tour, which arrives at 16:10 and leaves at 17:50, is very good! You should get enough "night" time for a few pictures of the illuminated town. Their second option arrives later, and is more risky since you need to reach Sendai on the same night.

I saw the news a week ago.
You are required to have a "ticket" to stay that late according to the linked news report.
But, really, what are you doing to do all that time other than freeze in the cold? I also note that Sendai to Ginzan takes a lot of time so starting early and getting back really late (it is a two hour drive and longer by public transport).
